This program prepares the student for various environments and populations related to employment focusing on recovery and alcoholism.


Chemical Dependency Counselor(CDC) Students receive instruction in:

  • Addiction Physiology & Drug Pharmacology

 

  • 12 Core Functions of Counseling

 

  • Advanced Counseling Theories and Techniques

 

  • Ethics, Special Populations and Other Treatment Issues

 

  • Practicum and Counseling Competencies

 

  • Internship – 255 hours


Students are required to participate in the internship and practicum portion of the counseling graduate programs after the 12 week course for certification with CAADAC.

This program is approved by CAADAC and adheres to their standards for education, required experience, and qualifications to become a chemical dependency counselor.

Qualified students are provided graduation certifications and membership documentation for applying to take the certification exam.

The in-class Monday-Friday counseling graduate programs have open enrollment bi-weekly and maintain a small class size to ensure each student receives the best education environment available. This program is also offered in-class Saturdays only or Mon-Wed online and begins every month.
