So ever since I posted an Article about Elementary School kids caught smoking pot ,on our Chemical Dependency Counseling Page, I started doing research…
I went to several different sources online and offline asking people either when they were introduced to drugs or when someone they know started smoking. There results were much worse than I thought. My guess before doing research was that the age kids were introduced to Pot and drugs was 7th Grade-12th grade. This was the hot-zone for drugs, that I guessed. Well, I was wrong, very wrong. The grade where children are first introduced, sold, or trying drugs is…
3rd grade-5th grade
Excuse me? Thats 7-10 years old!!!!! I don't know about you, but a child should never have to go through chemical dependency counseling or have to see a counseling graduate!
I wanted to write this article and do that research for two reasons..
1. To help bring awareness to this, and 2. To encourage people to start taking action by doing chemical dependency counseling.
Most children may not even end up smoking or taking any drugs at that age, BUT if their friends are then it just opens the door in the future. Centaur University will continue to equip people to become certified in chemical dependency counseling and help fight against this growing trend.
